A popular wetlands in Hsinchu complete with a boardwalk, crab viewing, and a good perspective of the coastal wind turbines, Xiangshan is a go-to sunset spot on the west coast. And unlike some other west coast sunset locations, the Xiangshan Wetlands are super easy to get to from the highway, and there’s a parking lot right next to the viewing area.
At the wetlands you can go out on the boardwalk or just stay on the path next to the wetlands. There’s a wide view with reflections on the water/sand, which together makes for great photos.
A little farther away are the wind turbines, which are also a popular thing to take a picture of. The dark silhouette of the turbines in the distance sets off the lines of puddles in the wetlands and the wavy boardwalk.
Driving is the best way to get to Xiangshan Wetlands, but you can also take one of the many buses from Hsinchu to Dazhuang Station and walk about 10 minutes to the wetlands.
