Just on the other side of the river from Taipei is this sprawling park in Sanchong.
Thanks to the Taoyuan Airport MRT, it takes just a few minutes to get to New Taipei Metropolitan Park from Taipei, and it’s a fantastic park for exploring and seeing the sunset from a vast variety of perspectives.
This huge park is comprised of lots of greenery, ponds/rivers, walkways, a bridge, and fun for people of all ages. With so much to see, you won’t run out of options for pictures at sunset time.
When the sky is extra colorful, the reflection on the waterways will add to the beauty.
New Taipei Metropolitan Park is literally a 5-minute ride from Taipei Main Station on the Taoyuan Airport MRT (make sure it’s the Commuter one, as the Express train doesn’t stop at this station). The standard orange line MRT also stops at that same station (Sanchong).
And if you are coming by car or scooter, there are plenty of parking spots at the park as well.
