Da’an Park is like Taipei’s Central Park. While it might not be as big as New York’s version, it is nonetheless a Taipei icon. It’s also not a bad place to go at sunset time.
While you likely won’t see the sun setting dramatically below the horizon, you might get some cool shots within the trees and grassy knolls of the park.
Really, Da’an Park is a nature lovers’ paradise. A good choice is near the Ecological Pond, a good birdwatching spot. You can see water, trees, birds, and the buildings of Taipei all in one shot. Or you can relax in one of the many grassy areas and see the sun coming in through the trees.
Da’an is easy to get to and also crowded particularly on weekends. It’s not a place people go specifically to watch the sunset, but it’s a place to enjoy yourself and watch as the sunset surrounds you.
