Zhongpushan is an underrated place to go for a Taipei city view at dusk. Within walking distance from Fu Zhou Shan, it’s a great alternative to Elephant Mountain for a bit of hiking, nature, and beautiful urban sunsets.
The main trail is not too hard, though there are multiple paths, and it’s somewhat easy to get lost or turned around (and there’s apparently even a path that has a section of ladders/ropes). You can get to the East Peak viewing platform and back to the bottom (the start of the Fu Zhou Shan trail) in 1-2 hours.
Getting to Zhongpushan is not too hard by public transporation. Like I mentioned, you can start from the entrance to the Fu Zhou Shan trail. You can also start from Fuyang Eco Park. Both are walking distance from MRT Linguang Station.
