Guanshan is a huge riverside park area in between Meiti and Rainbow Bridge. It certainly has no shortage of vistas and angles to view the sun. There are trees, basketball courts, baseball and cricket fields, water, bridges, roads, lanes, tracks, and planes coming and going as it’s situated right next to the Songshan Airport runways.
I enjoy setting on a bench or picking a spot on the grass while taking in the wide angle, and getting action shots combined with the sunset. You could do that, or wander around in the park, or go up one of the bridges to get a higher angle. There is also a viewing platform for the airport that also would serve well for the sunset.
Getting to Guanshan is a breeze with a car or scooter, although it’s not in close walking distance to any MRT stations. That being said, it can be accessed relatively easily by bike (~10 minutes) from either MRT Nanjing Sanmin Station or Songshan Station on the Green Line, or 10 minutes by Songshan Airport Station on the Brown Line. There’s also a bus (262) you can get on at Main Station that stops nearby the park, and many other bus options that stop in the vicinity.
